In the back of your mind, you have an idea–something that you’ve always wanted to bring to life, but never knew how to market. You might have all the skills you need and a product plan all laid out, but no one is buying. Now, this could be due to a lack of demand, but many times your product or service just hasn’t reached the right people yet.

Here are a few tips and tricks that will help you turn your marketing plan around!

1. Have a product or service ready to sell

Now, this one may be an obvious one, but it’s the truth! None of the marketing matters if you don’t have something to deliver to your customers. But, that’s only a part of what you need to get started. Being ready to sell is more than having enough stock to get through every order. More importantly, you need to know what your strengths and benefits your product offers. You need a marketing position that will fit your values and mission–and stick to it. This will be what your product will be known for. You don’t want to stray from your core story or it may confuse your audience. A confused audience is a loss in potential customers.

2. Promote your product across multiple platforms

There are people that are more active only on certain platforms: someone who is commenting on every TikTok post may hate reading blogs and vice versa. By diversifying the viewing experience, it’ll be easier to reach more people and keep your product at the forefront of people’s minds if they see it multiple times. There are many great ways to streamline your content onto different platforms too–just simply share and publish your work to simultaneously post everything in one go.

3. Maximize your engagment!!

You’ve laid out your foundations for a strong marketing strategy, and now it’s time for you to connect with your audience. Engagement is a huge part of spreading the word of your product, especially when circumstances seem to be changing all the time.

Take Instagram for example, the times where your posts would see the most engagement is usually in the morning (during work commutes), lunchtime, and the evening hours (after everyone gets off work). When something like the timing of your posts could impact how many people can see them, it’s best to stay on top of your game and post consistently.

But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! In order to maximize your engagement (and thus your conversion rate), you need to ensure that you’re replying to as many of your comments as possible. Not only will it get people to come back to your post, but it develops a closer community among your followers!

There’s also the neat little pinned comment option that you should always be using to its full potential! Pin a call to action or some sort of question that your viewers can answer. The longer that someone spends replying to your pinned comment, the longer they will stay on your post and remember your product.

4. Thank your customers for their support ❤

Don’t forget to acknowledge those that are helping you achieve your goals! Who doesn’t like to be thanked for their help? It doesn’t hurt to be friendly with the people that are buying your products, especially if they liked it so much that they left a good review. People rely heavily on the social influence of people around them, so if your supporters are vocal, then that works out great for you as well!

Promotion for your product can be a tricky and challenging task, but it all comes down to consistency and value. You know what value your product brings, and it’s only a matter of time that others see it too! Don’t give up! :)
